Business Rates Holiday
The Government has stated that the
'Business Rate Holiday' for those businesses in the Retail, Leisure and
Hospitality sectors is due to cease at the end of March 2021.
In order to bring pressure to bear on the
Government, the Chamber of Trade undertook a survey of its member to
gauge their reaction. The results of the survey can be found by

Business Rates Bills for 2020/2021,
Government Funding and Support - As the Covid-19 situation is developing, we will endeavour to keep
you up-to-date with relevant information and the role that we are
playing for our business community. To keep you informed please
visit www.southlakeland.gov.uk which we will be posting updates
on a regular basis.

Business Rates Help -

Small business grant funding -
Those eligible for Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) or Rural Rate
Relief (RRR) may be eligible for grants to help meet their ongoing
business costs. Details of how to claim and eligibility criteria
will be published on www.southlakeland.gov.uk once we have received this from Central
Government. We are expecting this information around 20 March.

Business Rates Bills for 2020/21
- You may have just received your business rates bill for 2020/21.
Please note that these do not include newly announced discounts or
payment holidays. These will be applied automatically and you do not
need to take any further action. Please bear with us while we await
further advice from Central Government.

SLDC are encouraging all businesses
with cash flow concerns to speak directly with your business banks,
insurance providers, landlords, commercial agents and supply chain
to speak about potential payment holidays and flagging business
interruption with them.

Tim Farron, MP
Our local MP, Tim Farron has been working
closely and tirelessly on our behalf cagouling government into giving more help to
the accommodation and tourism sectors of our local economy.
Unfortunately not all of it has been successful as can be evidenced by the
